Plastic Memories

Plastic memories is a slice of life anime that is set in the future. In this future, human like androids take the roles of caretakers and companions for a variety of purposes. No, not that kind, this is a family orientated anime after all. However, these android "Giftias", come with an expiry dates when they start to lose their will and memories, thus necessitating the need to decommission them before red iRobot happens. Think iRobot without the rebellion and the self will already in place, and fluffier exteriors.

Maximum Fluffy

Our MC is the typical run of the mill harem lead - weak-willed, wishy washy and got into the company through personal connections. Not that this does him any good, as the company president throws him into the runt division of the company, involved in decommissioning near expired Giftias.

He is soon partnered up with the female lead, a Giftia named Isla who is similarly incompetent. Just why that is so has not been revealed. They work as a team to persuade/counsel people to part with their Giftias. I assume taking them out with C4 does not go very well with customer loyalty.

As slice of life animes go, this has decidedly less humor and a sombre mood, as the cast goes about their business of being "Giftia reapers". With death flags all over the place, the love comedy has been toned down to a minimum. Isla is cute and the art is nice, which is all i can say about this for the moment. Drama is to be expected, though whether people will find it overdone remains to be seen.

Better watch out, these two are both Giftias
The candidates for "Best Girl" is severely lacking, as there are only two candidates - one of which has a death flag.

The other love interest. MC should move his arm a bit to his right.
With four episodes down the hatch, the characters are mostly involved in counseling and social work. Some trouble with their company is expected down the line, with the usual "I'm going to die" mood.

With Isla making funny faces out of the way, I expect a pretty average run with no major surprises or twists. The foreshadowing has been pretty clear so far on what to expect, so i don't think an alien invasion might happen anytime soon. Fans of the action/seinen genre might want to give this a skip, as Naruto won't be making a cameo as the 7th Hokage.

Genre: SOL, Comedy, Drama
Art: 7/10. Pretty good, which might mean we 'll have quality moments later on.
Direction: 7/10. Nothing out of pace, nor does it feel rushed. Scenes fits pretty well.
Attractiveness: 6/10. I would continue watching it but not rewatch an episode.
Overall: 7/10.

Ninja Slayer Episode 1

The new anime by Trigger seems to be a bad attempt at a joke.

The premise is pretty simple, a guy's family gets killed by an evil organization of ninjas, he goes out to kill all of them and get his revenge. That's the long and short of it.

The opening song does not give much foreshadowing to the contents of the rest of the episode:

Cute girl, what could go wrong?
After the opening, the anime hits you like a monkey throwing its crap at you.

Yeah its a robot ninja monkey
Several cut out paper character sequences ensue, which has an effect like getting hit on the head by a brick.

Left right x 5
On the bright side, the death sequences have a "mortal combat" feel:

You might want to get used to the sequences above, they are the bread and butter of this show; lots of "YEARHHHHH" and blood spraying.

Paper cutout police brutality.

After more paper cutouts stomping on another paper cutout, we get more yearhs!!!!

Overall, this anime seems to be geared towards the younger crowd. People who likes animated comics may enjoy this, i am certainly looking forward to how much blood....interesting the show is going to get. It definitely has the potential to be a cult classic.

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Episode 1

We have Yamada Ryu, yankee of his school, wandering about picking fights with anyone. He runs into Shiraishi Urara, the pretty honor student of his class and switches bodies with her. Hijinks ensue as they adapt to body swapping and more people get in on the action.

So what do you do when you find yourself in a girl's body?

Rub her boobs!

Grope her crotch!
*squeaking noises*

Don't forget to pinch her face in the mirror.

After the initial shock, Yamada(in her body) runs to find Shiraishi and finds her(in his body) nonchalantly taking lessons like a pro.
Protip for people short on grades.

While he's living the life of a reformed yankee girl, he solves her problems, albeit with his usual yankee methods. People who have read the manga will feel that the first episode seemed rushed and left out some scenes.

Along the way he makes several reaction faces:

Turns out body swapping gives you an appetite:

Nom Nom Nom

and an attitude problem:
Whacha' starin at!

Initial impressions:
This seems like a fun anime, but as all adaptations go, it might go either way. The art is nice and the plot flows smoothly despite the omissions. I would keep watching it, to see how it goes.

Unlike other series of the same genre, the gags are not overly funny while maintaining a certain amount of hilarity.

Art: 7/10
Story: Too early to determine from the anime
